An integral part of the New York Knicks’ success has been OG Anunoby, who is eligible for the NBA All-Defensive Team after playing in his 65th game of the year.
His teammate, Josh Hart, and Knicks superfan Ben Stiller both think that he deserves the honor. Hart wrote that Anunoby deserves “First Team” NBA All-Defensive honors, and Stiller responded with the 100 points emoji on X, formerly Twitter.
This is a drum that Stiller has been beating for a while. On Monday, Apr. 6, 2026, Stiller demanded the NBA “give” Anunoby the honor of being named to the All-Defensive Team.

If Anunoby makes the NBA All-Defensive Team this year, it’d mark the second time he has received that honor. Previously, he was named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team in 2023, the same year he led the league in steals.
Still, it’d be a great honor to make the team again, especially if he makes the First Team. More than likely, this is the last thing on Anunoby’s mind, as the Knicks are preparing for a three-game home stand before the playoffs.
They will next play the Boston Celtics in what could be a teaser for what’s to come in the playoffs. The game will be broadcast on Prime Video on Thursday, Apr. 9, 2026.
Heading into the playoffs, the Knicks are currently the third seed in the Eastern Conference. They sit behind the Detroit Pistons (57-22) and the Celtics (54-25) in the standings. This is not the time to rest on their laurels, though, as the Cleveland Cavaliers are right behind the Knicks at 50-29.
Anunoby has started all 65 games he has appeared in during the 2025-26 NBA season. He is averaging 17 points (the third-most on the team), 5.3 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game. He is coming off a career year with the Knicks during which he averaged 18 points per game.
