On Wednesday night, the San Antonio Spurs will play the Portland Trail Blazers (at home) in Texas.
The Spurs are coming off a strong 115-102 win over the Philadelphia 76ers.
Before leaving with an injury, All-Star center Victor Wembanyama put up 17 points, five rebounds, one assist and three blocks while shooting 7/11 from the field and 1/3 from three-point range in 16 minutes of playing time.

Before Wednesday’s game, the Spurs have announced that Wembanyama has been ruled out.
Underdog NBA wrote: “Victor Wembanyama (rib) ruled out Wednesday.”

Wembanyama is having an excellent season with averages of 24.8 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.0 steals and 3.1 blocks per contest while shooting 51.0% from the field and 35.0% from three-point range in 63 games.
ESPN’s Shams Charania had written (on April 7): “Spurs star Victor Wembanyama is listed doubtful to play in Wednesday’s game against Portland due to a rib contusion but there’s confidence he will play at least one of the team’s final three regular-season games.”

Spurs Ahead Of Trail Blazers Clash

The Spurs had been in rebuilding since 2019 when they last made the NBA playoffs (with DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge).
This season, they have been incredible, going 60-19 in 79 games, which has them as the second seed in the Western Conference.
Over their last ten games, the Spurs have gone 9-1 (and they are 30-7 at home).
After the Trail Blazers, they will play their next game on Friday when they remain at home to host Cooper Flagg and the Dallas Mavericks.

The Trail Blazers are 40-39 in 79 games, which has them as the ninth seed in the Western Conference.
They have won seven out of their last ten games (and are 18-22 on the road).
After the Spurs, the Trail Blazers will play their next game on Friday when they return home to host the LA Clippers in Oregon.
