Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs received unwanted news on Wednesday as their young star remained sidelined.

The 22-year-old Frenchman has pushed the franchise back into true contention with rapid growth and steady dominance. Wembanyama has served as a complete game-changer on both ends of the floor. He is averaging 24.8 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists and a league-leading 3.1 blocks in his third season.

Wembanyama is currently out after suffering a left rib contusion in last Monday’s win over the Philadelphia 76ers

He has guided San Antonio to a 61-19 record, the West’s second-best mark. The turnaround has been impressive, yet not exactly the finish he wants.
