The WNBA season has begun, and although free agency came to a close, transactions haven’t stopped.

On Sunday, one of the most intriguing players on the board made a move, signing with the Phoenix Mercury six games into the season, per Underdog WNBA.
Former No. 1 overall college basketball recruit and Stanford Cardinal legend Haley Jones agreed to a deal with the Mercury. Before the season, Jones was released from the Atlanta Dream.
She previously played two seasons with the Dream but fell short of their final roster cuts heading into her third season in the WNBA.
Phoenix made the move for the former college basketball star while holding a 4-2 record on the season. They officially announced the news before a matchup against the Los Angeles Sparks on Sunday.
Upon the release of the announcement, some fans took to social media, sharing their thoughts on the former highly touted prospect making the move to the Phoenix Mercury.

During her two-year career with the Atlanta Dream, Haley Jones posted 3.8 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game.
She now gets a new opportunity with a clean slate in Phoenix, playing for one of the most underrated teams in the WNBA.
