On Sunday evening, the Charlotte Hornets will hit the road for the final time this regular season for a game against the New York Knicks. The Hornets are coming off a tough loss to the Detroit Pistons that officially locked them into the play-in tournament, but still have plenty to play for seeding-wise on Sunday night, and they have a mostly clean injury report heading into the game.

The only rotational player on the injury report for the Hornets on Sunday night is Coby White, who is probable with right calf soreness.

Meanwhile, the Knicks will be resting several key players in this one, including Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, OG Anunoby, Mitchell Robinson, and Karl-Anthony Towns, having already locked up the number three seed in the Eastern Conference heading into the playoffs.

This being the case, the Hornets should, in theory, have a relatively easy time against the Knicks’ backup, despite the game taking place in Madison Square Garden.

If the Hornets win this game, they will officially lock up the number nine seed in the Eastern Conference and host the Miami Heat in the first of two play-in games they would need to win in order to make the playoffs. A Hornets’ loss, combined with a Heat win against the Atlanta Hawks, would mean Charlotte would fall to ten, and be forced to play against the Heat on the road in the matchup instead of at home.

If the Heat lose that game, the Hornets won’t have to worry about dropping to ten, regardless of what happens in their game vs the Knicks.

In any case, tipoff between Charlotte and New York is slated for 6:00 pm ET from New York City.
