Andre Drummond #3 of the Chicago Bulls.
As the Philadelphia 76ers put the finishing touches on their battle for the No. 7 seed against the Orlando Magic, an unlikely candidate hit the dagger three. Andre Drummond sent the South Philly crowd into a frenzy as he hit his second three-pointer for the night.
For Drummond, he finished the game by going 2-3 from deep. He hit on 5-8 shots from the field, and went 2-2 from the charity stripe. Drummond produced 14 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, three steals, and three blocks in 31 minutes off the bench.
NBA fans have been in disbelief all year long about Drummond’s sudden emergence with his three-point shot. As confident as the former All-Star center is in his game, Drummond thinks his old self would be in disbelief about it as well.

Throughout the first five years of his career, Drummond never attempted more than seven shots from three in a single season with the Detroit Pistons.
After an eight-year run with the Pistons, Drummond had just 89 shots from beyond the arc. His run with the Cleveland Cavaliers included 22 shots from three in two seasons. Between stints in Brooklyn and LA, he had just one. Then in Chicago, Drummond attempted only six over two years.

Throughout his recent two-year run with the Sixers, Drummond has taken 110 threes during the regular season. This year, he has taken 90. And despite the doubts about his shot, Drummond hit an efficient 35.6% from deep on 1.4 shots per game.
While the Sixers didn’t ask Drummond to become a stretch-five, taking threes at a high volume, the veteran center has taken those shots where he could get them. Clearly, the results are positive.
The Sixers defeated the Magic with a 109-97 victory on Wednesday night.
With that win, the 76ers will take a trip to Boston this weekend, set to face the Celtics in the first round of the 2026 NBA Playoffs. Meanwhile, the Magic will fight for No. 8 on Friday in a game against the Charlotte Hornets.
