Kidd invested into the pro volleyball team earlier this year.
DALLAS — The Dallas PULSE, DFW’s new pro volleyball team, swept the Columbus Fury in a 3-0 victory on Friday night, and Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd was in attendance to watch.
It was the eighth sweep of the season for the PULSE, who have kept the Fury winless across four separate games. Just a few days ago, the PULSE also secured its spot in the playoffs.
Kidd has been an investor in the PULSE since February, along with other former pro athletes and business leaders who say they believe in the future of women’s pro volleyball in the region.
Kidd’s involvement is also personal.Â
He and his wife, Porschla Kidd, have a daughter who plays volleyball, and the family has shown a strong commitment to supporting women’s sports. Kidd recently announced the launch of Jason Kidd Select South, a North Texas–based program aimed at developing elite players and expanding opportunities for female athletes.
The PULSE will face the Indy Ignite in Indianapolis at 7 p.m. on April 19, with the game airing live on VICE TV.
