DePaul men’s basketball has signed Ade Popoola, the team announced on Saturday. The 6’5” junior guard played for Tulsa in the 2025-26 season.

“We are excited to welcome Ade to Chicago and the DePaul Basketball family,” head coach Chris Holtmann said in the release. “He was one of the premier shooters in the portal and helped his team have an excellent season. He has proven his ability to score the ball throughout his career.

“We believe his defensive ability combined with his ability to stretch the floor gives us a two-way wing/guard that we were looking for and one we believe will make an immediate impact in our program.”

Popoola played in 38 games this past season, starting in each. He averaged 10.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game on 41.4% shooting from the field. He shot 40.9% from three.

Prior to his time at Tulsa, he played for Moberly Area Community College.

With the signing of Popoola, the Blue Demons continue to add defense, 3-point shooting and scoring to the 2026-27 roster.
