The Milwaukee Bucks have registered serious interest in Taylor Jenkins, which the team’s leadership met with the former Grizzlies coach in Memphis.

The Milwaukee Bucks have formally begun their looming expansive search for their newest head coach.

As such, according to Sam Amick and Eric Nehm of The Athletic, the franchise has registered serious interest in Taylor Jenkins to be their new playcaller.

Bucks owners Wes Edens and Jimmy Haslam, along with general manager Jon Horst, travelled to Memphis in order to meet Jenkins to discuss Milwaukee’s vacant coaching position.

Jenkins previously served as the Memphis Grizzlies’ head coach, leading the franchise from 2019 up until his dismissal before the end of the past 2024-25 regular season.

Under his lead, the Grizzlies enjoyed successful contention years with core players Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr. and Desmond Bane. Memphis tied the franchise’s regular-season record in wins (56) and made it to the second round of the NBA Playoffs last 2021-22.

Jenkins previously served as an assistant for Mike Budenholzer in Milwaukee until he left to accept the Grizzlies’ head coaching position after the 2018-19 season.

Doc Rivers stepped down as the Bucks’ head coach after the team failed to reach the NBA Playoffs this 2025-26 for the first time in 10 years.

Other than finding their new head coach, the Bucks will have to address their future with Giannis Antetokounmpo during their early 2026 offseason.
