Mikal Bridges missed the potential game-winning shot that could have put the Knicks up 2-0 in their best-of-seven series against the Hawks.

The series will now shift to Atlanta with the series tied at one game apiece, as pressure is now on the side of New York to respond.
The Knicks enjoyed chances to win the game by leading as many as 14, but simply allowed the Hawks to fight back and claw their way late into the game by having a nightmare fourth quarter.
As such, the game’s final possession, in which Mikal Bridges missed the potential game-winning shot after CJ McCollum bricked all his two free throws, served as the nail in the coffin that completely silenced the entire Madison Square Garden.
Addressing Bridges’ final shot, Mike Brown is still convinced that the Knicks star had a good look, but missed it due to an unfortunate circumstance.
“I thought it was a good shot. Mikal got up the floor, and I thought we had it,” Brown told reporters after the game. “He was a little off balance, but I don’t think the shot was under a ton of duress.
“Those are shots he’s hit for us in the past.”
Bridges and the Knicks will look to bounce back in Atlanta against the Hawks, beginning on Thursday’s Game 3.
