Not Zo’ fast Mam!
Mayor Zohran Mamdani jumped the gun on celebrating the New York Knicks’ playoff birth with an art display in City Hall.
Hours after the Knicks’ homage went up in the lobby Monday, the team fell in dramatic fashion to the Atlanta Hawks while playing at home at Madison Square Garden.

The Hawks pulled off the win by a single point, 107-106.
The series is now tied 1-1, with the Knicks headed to Atlanta for two games.
Did the curse of the Mambino hit the New York Knicks as well?

The heartbreaker comes as Mets fans put their 11-game losing streak on Hizzoner, blaming him for cursing the team with a mascot hug in early April. The team lost 10 straight games after the photo opp, sparking comparisons to the infamous “Curse of the Bambino” that supposedly sparked an 86-year championship drought for the Boston Red Sox when they sold Babe Ruth to the rival New York Yankees.

The mayor said Tuesday he’d embrace the nickname “Mayor Mambino” for a day, as he held out hope the Mets would break the losing streak when they return to Citi Field for a homestand against the Minnesota Twins.
Mamdani apparently didn’t learn from his predecessor Eric Adams, who committed a similar faux pas by wearing a hat with both the Yankees and Mets logo, cursing the chances of a subway series on the post-season.
