One of the best shooters in college basketball is on his way to Auburn from a few hours down the road.
South Alabama forward transfer Adam Olsen has signed with Auburn, the program announced on social media Tuesday. Olsen visited Auburn last weekend and chose the Tigers over Kansas.
A Canadian who spent his first two college seasons at the University of British Columbia, Olsen was South Alabama’s leading scorer this past season at 15.7 points per game, shooting 39.5 percent from beyond the arc on 8.3 attempts.
“Adam has what I’d call a super power — he’s one of the best 3-point shooters in all of college basketball,” Steven Pearl said in the program’s announcement of Olsen’s signing. “If he sees it, he can make it. At 6-8 with a quick, high release, Adam will consistently get clean looks in an offense that has improved both makes and shooting percentages for our players year after year.”
At 6-foot-8, Olsen gives Auburn more depth at forward, after freshman Sebastian Williams-Adams decided to transfer out after initially announcing his return earlier this month.Â
Olsen is the fourth transfer pickup for Auburn this cycle, following Troy forward Thomas Dowd, Santa Clara center Bukky Oboye and Creighton big man Owen Freeman.
