James channeled his never-aging brilliance to steer the Lakers’ success on Friday evening, even hitting the clutch three-pointer with 12 seconds left in regulation to tie it and send the game to overtime.
The 41-year-old superstar finished the night with 29 points, 13 rebounds and six assists across 45 minutes of play. As such, this Game 3 stat line he posted against the Rockets propelled him to surpass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar again in the NBA’s record books.
James recorded his fourth playoff game with at least 20 points and 10 rebounds since turning 40, the most in NBA history, passing the legendary center (3).
As LeBron continues to defy Father Time, more and more records of Abdul-Jabbar is being broken. The future Hall of Famer has been on a mission to lead LA since Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves both went down with brutal injuries late in the regular season.
Now on the cusp of reaching the postseason’s second round, James and the Lakers will look to get the job done and sweep the Rockets in Game 4 on Sunday.
