Lady Vols basketball is adding to its frontcourt through the transfer portal. On Saturday, Tennessee landed the commitment of Texas forward Aaliyah Moore. Moore is coming off a visit to see UT on Friday.

This past season, Moore, standing at 6-foot-1, did not play and was not very involved with the Texas program. She was recovering from a knee surgery that held her out of the season.

The season prior, Moore played in and started 19 games, but the year was cut short by tendonitis in her right knee. She averaged 7.9 points per game that year on 47.3% shooting from the field and was 0-for-5 on threes. She also averaged 4.6 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game.

As a junior in the 2023-24 campaign, Moore earned a spot on the All-Big 12 Second Team and Big 12 All-Tournament Team while appearing in 33 games and starting 19. She averaged 11.3 points and 6.1 rebounds on 52.9% shooting from the field and 28.6% from range.

The year prior, as a sophomore, she played in the first nine games of the year before suffering a season-ending knee injury on Dec. 11 against Alabama State. That time, it was an ACL injury that shut her down.

As a freshman in the 2021-22 season, she appeared in 28 games and had nine starts. She averaged 6.0 points on 51.3% shooting and 3.1 rebounds.

Moore was extremely highly recruited out of high school, as well. From Moore, Oklahoma, she was a McDonald’s All-American in 2021, a two-time Oklahoma Gatorade Player of the Year and ranked as the No. 6 prospect in the country for the 2021 class by espnW.

This is now the 11th commitment through the portal for Tennessee. Moore joins Liberty guard Avery Mills, Northern Arizona guard Naomi White, Stanford forward Harper Peterson, Georgia forward Zhen Craft and guard Rylie Theuerkauf, Auburn guard Harissoum Coulibaly, Texas A&M forward Fatmata Janneh, Maryland guard Kaylene Skinner, Penn State guard Shaelyn Steele and Seton Hall guard Jada Eads. Four-star Gabby Minus and Irene Oboavwoduo also join as freshmen.
