Will veteran Boston Celtics big man Al Horford leave the team this offseason? The University of Florida alum is an unrestricted free agent, and seemed all but certain to return to the Celtics before injuries to star forwards Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown helped knock Boston out of the 2025 NBA Playoffs at the hands of the New York Knicks.
Now, with Tatum looking at missing most if not all of the 2025-26 regular season and Brown’s need for surgery still unclear, contention may be off the table for Boston’s short term future. Would Horford look to decamp to another team in pursuit of another title given how little cap space the Celtics likely have to re-sign him?
