The NBA draft is three weeks away, meaning teams are in their final draft evaluation processes, and players across the country are participating in individual workouts, hoping to hear their names called in the 2025 NBA Draft.
Four Gonzaga Bulldogs are pursuing basketball at the next level, with Ryan Nembhard, Ben Gregg, Nolan Hickman, and Khalif Battle all going through the pre-draft process.
Ryan Nembhard:
The two-year starting point guard began his road to the NBA draft at the G League Elite Camp, where he impressed scouts enough to earn an invite to the NBA Draft Combine, where his IQ and premier passing ability were put on display in Chicago. Nembhard dished out 14 assists in two games at the Draft Combine.
Nembhard worked out with the Warriors on Tuesday and has possibly completed other workouts as well, with Nembhard telling media members that he had a planned workout with the Atlanta Hawks.
Nembhard is currently all over NBA mock drafts, as many experts expect him to be a late second-round pick, and many others do not project Nembhard to get drafted.
Ben Gregg:
Gonzaga’s Ben Gregg is also going through workouts with NBA teams, having participated in four workouts as of June 3. His latest was with his hometown Portland Trail Blazers, less than an hour from his hometown.
Gregg also has worked out with the Charlotte Hornets, Phoenix Suns, and Atlanta Hawks and has a scheduled workout with the Boston Celtics on June 4. Gregg has noted that honing in on his individual skill set gives him the best chance to succeed at the next level.
“My ability to stretch the floor as a big man, that’s been a strength of mine throughout these workouts,” Gregg said.
Khalif Battle & Nolan Hickman:
Both Khalif Battle and Nolan Hickman participated in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament in April, with Battle being named the player of the game in his second game with a 23-point, three-rebound, and two-steal performance. It is unknown if Nolan Hickman or Khalif Battle have completed any workouts with NBA franchises.
