Before I say anything else, know this: I would not be silly enough to actually bet against a juggernaut team like the reigning NBA champion Boston Celtics just because one of their players said something corny or hard to follow. I think what you’ll find is that many pro athletes at the highest levels of their respective sports and leagues are particularly cringey, so that doesn’t really have any effect on any play. Just because their jokes don’t land, doesn’t mean their team can’t go all the way (even though I’m sure the basketball gods have their say on these matters in other ways).
With that said, I’m still trying to decipher Celtics forward Jaylen Brown’s comments while mic’d up in Game 1 against the fledgling Orlando Magic. Honestly, I’m unsure whether he even knows what he said.

It’s like Brown knew he wanted a buzzy quote while mic’d up and completely flubbed it because he tried too hard to force it:
So … Harry Potter doesn’t have the “magic,” and neither do the Magic themselves? Do I have that right … hopefully? Gah, what is happening?
Brown should take solace in one thing. With quotes like this, he and All-Star teammate Jayson Tatum are two peas in a pod. That’s not nothing. At least they’re united on one extremely corny front.
