The top-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers and eighth-seeded Miami Heat play in Game 3 of an Eastern Conference best-of-7, first-round playoff series Saturday. Tip-off from Kaseya Center is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET (TNT). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Cavaliers vs. Heat odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Playoff series: Cavaliers lead 2-0

The Cavaliers routed the Heat 121-100 in Game 1 last Sunday, covering as 12.5-point favorites as the Over (216) cashed. In Wednesday’s Game 2, things were a little closer. The Cavs won 121-112, but the Heat held on for a cover as 12-point underdogs as the Over (213) cashed yet again.

For Miami, C Bam Adebayo went for 11 points and 14 rebounds, while flirting with a triple-double. He had 9 assists, while adding a steal and a single 3-pointer with a 4-of-4 night from the free-throw stripe. PG Tyler Herro’s jumper was working well enough to make rapper Jack Harlow proud, going 14-for-24 from the field, while knocking down 4 triples. He finished with 33 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists.

As far as Cleveland is concerned, it hit 47.6% (39-for-82) from the field, including 48.9% (22-for-45) from downtown, while going an outstanding 91.3% (21-for-23) from the free-throw line. G Donovan Mitchell was on point, going for a team-best 30 points, with seven 3-pointers, while G Darius Garland posted 21 points and recently-named Defensive Player of the Year F Evan Mobley was good for 20 points.

Miami actually outrebounded Cleveland by a 38-to-34 margin, but the Heat had 5 more miscues with 13 turnovers, and the Cavs had 10 steals to just 3 for the Heat.

Cavaliers at Heat picks and predictionsPrediction

Cavaliers 110, Heat 101

The Cavaliers (-220) will set you back almost 2½ times your potential return, and that’s just a little too much risk for a standalone wager. There is just not enough value, even if you were to use a boost/promo to slightly drop the odds.

If you were to toss Cleveland into a multi-leg parlay, especially with 4 or more parts, it would be perfectly OK to include the Cavaliers at that price.

AVOID, and look to the spread instead.

The CAVALIERS -5.5 (-110) have split 1-1 ATS in the first 2 games on its home court. The good news for Cleveland is that it has been relatively healthy lately, and that likely had a lot to do with locking up the No. 1 seed early, allowing the team to rest key components down the stretch.

The Cavaliers went 30-11 straight up on the road in the regular season, and they went 4-2 ATS in the final 6 road games of the season. Cleveland played in South Florida Jan. 29, and the Cavs routed the Heat 129-109 as 6-point favorites. To be fair, the other meeting Dec. 8 went to Miami 122-113 as a 2.5-point underdog, so don’t get carried away here.

BET UNDER 213.5 (-105) as this series shifts to South Florida.

We saw the Over cash in the first 2 games of this series. However, those were each evening starts. This is a matinee game, and the legs could be a little heavy, at least in the early going. In fact, playing UNDER 105.5 (-110) – 1ST HALF TOTAL is a strong play, too, as it could take both sides a little while to get in a rhythm.
