Scottie Barnes had some fun with the camera this week during a live news report about his newest Toronto Raptors teammate.

Barnes was enjoying his lunch while standing outside the Raptors’ OVO Athletic Centre when reporter Sean Leathong began a live sports segment on CTV News. The All-Star’s ears perked up when he heard Leathong mention his name.

The shoutout gave Barnes the idea to mess with the broadcast. He stood behind Leathong and made faces as the veteran newscaster talked about Kawhi Leonard.

Barnes even made some hilarious facial expressions when Leathong mentioned the new $115 million contract extension Leonard signed earlier in the week.

Barnes has developed into the face of the Raptors and the team’s best player since Leonard led Toronto to a title in 2019. With the trade that brought Leonard back to Toronto, the team has paired up its past franchise face with its present.

But the personalities of the two star forwards could not be more opposite. The Barnes-Leonard interactions may very well turn into comedy goal throughout their time together in Toronto, especially if the team does turn into a contender in the East.
