Is there a case to be made for hanging onto Boston Celtics big man Kristaps Porzingis? The Latvian center has been the first player brought up as a potential trade chip in the Celtics likely quest to get under the second apron to avoid the harsh penalties created by the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) to break up expensive teams like Boston.
But there are other ways to pull such a goal off besides trading away Porzingis for whatever the team can do it with, perhaps even requiring some assets to get off his deal despite it being a large expiring contract in a cap-starved league. What options does Boston have where they would not deal away KP before the end of the next NBA regular season?
