If what Stephen Curry told the media about Dylan Harper is true, then the NBA is about to welcome a generational talent.

The 2025 NBA Draft is just weeks away, and this year’s draft class is one of the deepest and most talented in recent memory. One of these big names is Dylan Harper.

Harper is the 2025 class’ standout point guard. Several teams are hoping to make a push up the lottery to land the young guard. The Brooklyn Nets are desperate to land Harper, but they’re unlikely to move up high enough to land him.

Harper’s potential on both ends of the floor is through the roof. In fact, Warriors superstar Stephen Curry even admitted he’d have trouble dealing with the Rutgers guard.

Stephen Curry gushes over Dylan Harper’s potential

Stephen Curry’s comments about Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey from earlier in the season resurfaced recently. Curry praised both players, with Dylan in particular earning plaudits from the former MVP.

He also revealed that Harper and he played against each other during a pick-up game, and the 2025 NBA prospect was uber-competitive when guarding him. In fact, Harper may have contained Curry to a low scoring night.

“Those two guys, individually, obviously, they’re super talented, but talent can only take you so far. Like, what’s your mentality about how much better can you get? How hard do you work? Are you coachable? They showed that.

“Dylan showed that. He was funny because he guarded me in a couple of pickup runs we had. I might not have scored on him.

“And I think he was mic’d up for something, and I think he knew. He was counting my stats, a little matchup. You love that competitiveness because they’re there to get better.“

The Rutgers teammates are two of the top prospects in this year’s class. Bailey and Harper are projected top-three picks, and would be the first pair of teammates to be selected in the top three since Zion Williamson and RJ Barrett in 2019.

Dylan Harper could be the cornerstone for a rebuilding NBA team

Currently, the San Antonio Spurs are the likeliest team to land Dylan Harper, as they have the second overall pick.

Dylan’s father, former NBA star Ron Harper, wants his son to play with Victor Wembanyama. While many expect Harper to join the Spurs, a lot can change between now and draft night in Brooklyn.

Harper could fall down in the draft if teams don’t see much in him. Or other teams could make a trade to move up and bring Harper somewhere else.

NBA Analysis picked Harper’s 5 best landing spots, but it is very possible that he doesn’t begin his rookie season with any of these sides.

Whichever team lands him will get a generational talent that they must nurture and develop over the years to come. If they get it right, the league will have another superstar on their hands, as Dylan Harper could become the next great NBA talent.
