The Pacers had to play from behind for nearly the entire game in Game 1 and Game 2, but Game 3 was a much more back-and-forth affair, with 15 ties and nine lead changes. With 6:50 left in the fourth quarter, it was 98-98 before Tyrese Haliburton made a 3-point shot to give the Pacers the lead for good, ultimately going on an 18-9 run to end the game.
Haliburton finished the game with 22 points, nine rebounds, 11 assists, and two steals, though it was reserve guard Bennedict Mathurin who led the team in scoring, with 27.
Oklahoma City played their game for the better part of three quarters but uncharacteristically fell apart late in Game 3. While they shot 46.8% from the field and 45.5% from the 3-point line for the game, they would shoot a dismal 35.3% from the field in the fourth quarter, and wouldn’t make a single 3-pointer in four attempts.
