Pacers vs Thunder Game 4 preview๐ฅ๐ฟ
All eyes will be on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder as they look to respond from their 116-107 loss on Wednesday night that dropped them to a 2-1 deficit. After setting an NBA record with 71 combined points in his first two Finals games, SGA had 24 points on 9-for-20 shooting in 42 minutes in Game 3.
Indianaโs defensive strategy was simple: stop Shai from touching the paint at all costs. They brought help and clogged the middle of the floor when he was able to turn the corner, forcing SGA into a playoff career-high six turnovers, and 17 for the Thunder overall. Andrew Nembhard was literally glued to his lifelong friend all evening, so keep an eye on that matchup and what OKC can do to free up space for the MVP.

NBA Finals Game 4 storylines ๐ฐ๐
Pacers aim for commanding lead:ย Indiana put on a defensive masterclass in Game 3 that hounded Kia NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, causing the Thunder to turn the ball over 17 times en route to a 2-1 series lead. Tyrese Haliburton was excellent in his best outing of the Finals, tallying 22 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds, and Bennedict Mathurin popped off with a playoff career-high 27 points in 22 minutes off the bench. Historically, teams that win Game 4 are 37-1, so a victory tonight would give the Pacers a huge advantage going forward.
Bench production proving to be X-factor:ย After the Pacersโ bench outscored the Thunderโs in their Game 1 win (39-28), Indianaโs reserves did it again in Game 3โs victory, recording a massive 49-18 edge. However, OKCโs Game 2 triumph was powered by a 48-34 advantage in bench scoring, thanks in large part to a combined 38 from Alex Caruso (20) and Aaron Wiggins (18). Regardless, the Thunder will need to get more juice from their reserves if they want to have a better shot evening the series at 2-2.
