Minnesota Timberwolves Line Up Lonzo Ball as Anthony Edwards’ Backcourt Ally, Kevin Durant Also on Watchlist The Minnesota Timberwolves are vying to make crucial off season additions to strengthen the roster that was builled by the OKC Thunder in this year's Western Conference Finals. Timberwolves lacked the offensive firepower and defensive grit to stop the young guns from the Oklahoma City. Reports suggest that the WCF Finalists could move for Lonzo Ball replacing Mike Conley Jr. The veteran guard couldn't carry out his two way duties we'll enough against a young OKC Thunder. He was a no watch for the side who take advantage out of his declining agility. Lonzo Ball could fit like a glue for the Minnesota Timberwolves and help Anthony Edwards. The roster is not very far away from the OKC Thunder. And if they want to close the gap rather than widening, the front office will have to act soon enough. Besides, the Timberwolves have also been linked with Kevin Durant. A host of teams are looking at the NBA legend but San Antonio Spurs remain ahead in the race to sign him. Timberwolves will have the pieces to strike a deal with Phoenix Suns. However, question remains how far are they willing to go. Lonzo Ball’s Shooting Boost Tempts Timberwolves The Minnesota Timberwolves have struggled offensively besides Anthony Edwards. Like many other top teams, the Twolves have also lacked a secondary scorer. Lonzo Ball could be the secondary threat that the front office is looking to add. The Chicago Bulls guard has significantly improved his shooting which could come in handy for the Wolves. He is averaging 38.9% as an off ball shooter from the last two seasons. While, before that, Lonzo Ball had averaged only 30%. He is also entering his prime which means there is still room for improvement. Ball is also on a $20 million two-year contract with the Chicago Bulls. For the salary, the guard looks like a no brainer deal. However, injury woes have continued to haunt the 27-year-old. He managed to play just 35 games in the 2024-25 season. This could hinder a potential move. Minnesota Timberwolves explore backcourt upgrades with Lonzo Ball in frame and Kevin Durant linked in bold off-season approach Timberwolves are exploring a move for Lonzo Ball after their WCF loss to OKC, while Kevin Durant remains another ambitious target this off-season.
