The\u00a0Golden State Warriors<\/a>\u00a0have had over 600 players don the more than 60 jersey numbers used by their players over the more than 75 years of existence the team has enjoyed in its rich and storied history.<\/p>\n

Founded in 1946 during the Basketball Association of America (BAA — a precursor league of the NBA) era, the team has called home the cities of Philadelphia, San Francisco, Oakland, and even San Diego.<\/p>\n

To commemorate the players who wore those numbers,\u00a0Warriors<\/a>\u00a0Wire is covering the entire history of jersey numbers and the players who sported them since the founding of the team. For this article, we begin with the seventh of 27 players who wore the No. 15 jersey for the\u00a0Warriors<\/a>.<\/p>\n

That player would be Golden State forward alum Zeke Zawoluk. After ending his college career at St. John’s, Zawoluk was picked up with the 14th overall selection of the 1952 NBA draft by the (defunct) Indianapolis Olympians.<\/p>\n

The Brooklyn, New York native would play the first season of his pro career with the Olympians before joining the (then) Philadelphia (now, Golden State) Warriors<\/a> in 1953 when Indianapolis went under. His stay with the team would span his last two seasons in the league.<\/p>\n

During his time suiting up for the Warriors, Zawoluk wore only jersey No. 15 and put up 7.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game.<\/p>\n
