{"id":104888,"date":"2025-06-17T14:02:10","date_gmt":"2025-06-17T14:02:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/104888\/"},"modified":"2025-06-17T14:02:10","modified_gmt":"2025-06-17T14:02:10","slug":"pacers-reveal-game-6-plan-for-injured-tyrese-haliburton","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/104888\/","title":{"rendered":"Pacers reveal Game 6 plan for injured Tyrese Haliburton"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tyrese Haliburton <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/06\/17\/sports\/pacers-tyrese-haliburton-delivers-nba-finals-dud-after-calf-injury\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">is not 100 percent<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>After a <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/06\/16\/sports\/thunder-move-within-win-of-nba-championship-after-game-5-win-over-pacers\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">120-109 Game 5 loss<\/a> to the Thunder in the NBA Finals, Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle confirmed during his postgame press conference that Haliburton is playing through an injury.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Haliburton tallied just four points and didn\u2019t hit a shot from the field in 34 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s not 100 percent,\u201d Carlisle told reporters. \u201cIt\u2019s pretty clear. But I don\u2019t think he\u2019s going to miss the next game.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Carlisle said the star point guard re-aggravated a lower-leg injury he suffered in Game 2 of the Finals, while Hailburton said it was in the \u201csame area.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The lower-calf tightness almost forced Haliburton out of Monday night\u2019s game at halftime, but the star insisted on playing.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Rick Carlisle during the post-game press conference after Game 5  NBAE via Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s the Finals, man. It\u2019s the NBA Finals,\u201d Haliburton said. \u201cI\u2019ve worked my whole life to be here and I want to be out there to compete, help my teammates any way I can. I was not great tonight by any means, but it\u2019s not really a though of mine to not play here. If I can help walk, then I want to play.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGotta be ready to go for Game 6.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Tyrese Haliburton during Game 5. NBAE via Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>While Carlisle said he thought Haliburton \u201cmade a lot of really good things happen in the second half,\u201d Haliburton\u2019s offense did suffer due to the injury.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He went 0-6 from the field, including four misses from deep.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Pacers committed 22 turnovers, with Haliburton adding three.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll three of our losses in this series, turnovers have been a big reason why,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Tyrese Haliburton missed all of of shots in Game 5. NBAE via Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Although the injury is significant enough to hamper Haliburton, he made it clear he will play in Game 6 in Indianapolis with the Pacers\u2019 season on the line.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Indiana will need a better performance from him if it hopes to force a Game 7 on Sunday in Oklahoma City.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe thought is if you lose, your season is over,\u201d Haliburton said. \u201cOur backs are against the wall. We take pride in playing at home in front of our fans and our fans are amazing, so we know they\u2019re going to come out with a ton of energy in Game 6. So, we\u2019re going to have to respond and be better and look forward to the challenge. \u2026 You got to look at Game 6 like it\u2019s a Game 7.
