The Miami Heat attempted to acquire Kevin Durant from the Phoenix Suns, but Pat Riley and Co. weren’t able to complete the deal.<\/p>\n

The Suns agreed to trade Durant to the Houston Rockets on Sunday for Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the No. 10 pick in this year’s draft and five second-round picks.<\/p>\n

Miami needs to acquire more talent around All-Stars Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro after getting swept by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round of the 2025 playoffs.<\/p>\n

Riley has his eyes on one of Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry’s teammates.<\/p>\n

According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic<\/a>, the Heat are interested in Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga, who becomes a restricted free agent this offseason.<\/p>\n

Kuminga appeared in 47 games for the Warriors this season. He averaged 15.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists while shooting 45.4% from the field, 30.5% from beyond the arc and 66.8% from the foul line.<\/p>\n

A one-time NBA champion, Kuminga turns 23 in October. He has career averages of 12.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists.<\/p>\n

The Warriors lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round of the 2025 playoffs in five games.\u00a0Curry suffered a Grade 1 left hamstring strain in Game 1 of the Timberwolves series and never returned.<\/p>\n

Without Curry, the Warriors lost four games in a row after winning Game 1 in Minnesota.<\/p>\n

Golden State acquired Jimmy Butler from Miami in February. As a restricted free agent, Kuminga can either re-sign with the Warriors or sign an offer sheet with another team.<\/p>\n

If Kuminga signs an offer sheet with another team, the Warriors can either match the offer sheet or let the swingman leave and work on a sign-and-trade deal.<\/p>\n
