The first round of the 2025 NBA Draft is over, and the Brooklyn Nets had a somewhat underwhelming performance.<\/p>\n

Heading into draft night, the Brooklyn Nets<\/a> made headlines as they entered with five first-round picks to their name.<\/p>\n

Yes, the Eastern Conference<\/a> organization held 16.6% of all first-round draft picks this year. However, it\u2019s safe to say that the Nets didn\u2019t use them to perfection.<\/p>\n

While teams like the Atlanta Hawks and New Orleans Pelicans engaged<\/a> in draft night trades, the Nets didn\u2019t involve themselves in any moves.<\/p>\n

Generally, when a team has an abundance of FRPs, it\u2019s a sign that they may trade a couple<\/a> to get up in the draft.<\/p>\n

Well, that wasn\u2019t the Nets\u2019 strategy as they kept all of their picks and drafted five players. Here\u2019s every player that the Nets picked:<\/p>\n

While no one was expecting the Nets to somehow get the first overall pick, they could have used some combination of their five FRPs along with players like Nic Claxton<\/a> or Cameron Johnson<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Brian Windhorst says rival executives are laughing at the Brooklyn Nets<\/p>\n

Considering most of the Nets\u2019 picks were in the late first round, it\u2019s unlikely that any of their selected players will turn into superstar-level talent.<\/p>\n

In fact, according to ESPN\u2019s Brian Windhorst<\/a>, the chatter around the league is that the Nets drafted multiple two-way contract-caliber players.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve got some people telling me things about Brooklyn. People are making fun of these draft picks,\u201d Windhorst said, via NBA on ESPN. <\/p>\n

He added: \u201cI mean, I\u2019ve got people saying to me\u2014executives and agents\u2014they\u2019re like, \u2018Man, I was watching [the Nets] play three two-way guys during this year so that they could clap for taking guys in the 20s.\u2019 <\/p>\n

\u201cHe was like, \u2018These two-way guys might be just as good as the guys that they\u2019re taking.’\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

It will be tough to see how the Nets fit these players on their roster this season.
