LAWRENCE \u2014\u00a0Hunter Dickinson isn\u2019t the only Kansas<\/a> basketball product with an opportunity after the 2025 NBA Draft, as it looks like Dajuan Harris Jr. will receive a chance himself.<\/p>\n

Harris<\/a> is going to join the Charlotte Hornets<\/a> for summer league competition, according to a report from DraftExpress.com.<\/a> It\u2019s the next step for Harris in his basketball journey, whose time with KU dates back to the 2019-20 season. A proven winner, he was a part of the Jayhawks\u2019 national championship team in 2022.<\/p>\n

During Harris\u2019 career in college, he earned various All-Big 12 Conference accolades \u2014\u00a0especially for his efforts on the defensive end of the court. In 2023, he was named the Big 12\u2019s defensive player of the year. A valuable point guard, he\u2019s Kansas\u2019 all-time leader in minutes and games played.<\/p>\n

Harris, listed as a 6-foot-2 and 175-pound graduate guard last season, is as experienced a player as one could find making a jump to the professional ranks. He\u2019s succeeded on the game\u2019s biggest stages. His defensive game draws more attention than what he\u2019s done on the offensive end, but when he was thriving offensively Kansas proved to be a tough team to beat.<\/p>\n

Harris helped the Jayhawks to Big 12 and national success during his time in college. He\u2019s a leader. He knows what to do in order to help a team thrive, even if there are players on the team who are viewed as more primary options over himself.<\/p>\n

Cons of Charlotte bringing in Dajuan Harris Jr. after 2025 NBA Draft<\/p>\n

While Harris has the ability to be more than effective on the offensive end, complementing his defensive prowess well, there is some concern about how well he can help spread the floor. This past season, he shot 32.1% from behind the arc while averaging about two-and-a-half 3s attempted per game. His career mark from behind the arc is better, but making sure there are shooters around him will be important.<\/p>\n

Dajuan Harris Jr.\u2019s college stats<\/p>\n

Harris played in 173 games for Kansas, with 144 starts. This past season, he averaged 9.2 points, 5.7 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game. During the 2021-22 season, in which the Jayhawks won a national title, he started 39 of the 40 games he played and averaged 5.4 points, 4.2 assists and 1.4 rebounds per game.<\/p>\n
