Jimmy Butler got injured (which sidelined him for the rest of the game), the Warriors faced a crushing 109-94 defeat, and Draymond Green got an unexpected NSFW chant from the Rockets fans. While Green\u2019s instant reaction to the chant was arguably mature, his response to the incident after the game also grabbed headlines. <\/p>\n

Game 2 of the 2025 NBA Western Conference playoff series between the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets reached a boiling point between players and even fans. In the heat of the Rockets\u2019 109-94 victory, all eyes turned to Draymond Green, who found himself at the center of huge backlash from fans.
Midway through the fourth quarter, emotions erupted after Green received a technical foul for shoving Rockets big man Alperen Sengun. The scuffle sparked more than just a brief on-court confrontation. It triggered a loud and explicit response from the home crowd at the Toyota Center, who began chanting, \u201cF–k you, Draymond,\u201d echoing throughout the arena.
But if Rockets fans thought they were getting under Green\u2019s skin, the four-time NBA champion quickly reminded everyone he\u2019s heard worse and survived it. Green was seen rather encouraging the chant, seemingly showing that he can take more than that.
After the game, Green had a chat with the reporters where he gave his first verbal reaction to the moment.
\u201cIt\u2019s not original,\u201d Green said postgame. \u201cBeen there before, won a championship while it was happening. So yeah, it’s not really original. You can’t steal other people’s s–t. That belongs to Boston. So I kind of just kept it pushing.\u201d
The comment was a not-so-subtle nod to the 2022 NBA Finals, where Boston Celtics fans hurled the same NSFW chant at Green while the Warriors went on to claim the championship.
The incident also prompted a response from Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, who defended his veteran forward but also expressed concern about the level of vitriol coming from the stands.
\u201cNo, Draymond’s, he’s been around forever,\u201d Kerr said following the game. \u201cHe’s an instigator. He’s always going to be in the mix and because of his career, his championships, his fire, he’s going to be a lightning rod, and that’s all part of it.\u201d
Still, Kerr urged fans to consider the human element behind the game.
\u201cI would prefer if fans could use a little more discretion and remember that the guy has kids. I don’t know\u2026 maybe I’m old school, but I’m all for the fans cheering for their team, and if they want to yell at the opponents, great, but I don’t know, I just think FU is a little much.”

While the Rockets took the win and evened the series, the noise surrounding Draymond Green is far from over.
