It is set to be a crucial offseason for the Golden State Warriors as they try to upgrade their roster around their star trio of Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green.<\/p>\n

Of course, the Warriors\u2019 championship window is closing due to their aging core, but they will look to make some roster upgrades this summer to be a title contender next season.<\/p>\n

Golden State\u2019s first major decision is what to do with Jonathan Kuminga as many believe that they will elect to move him via a sign-and-trade deal as he will be a restricted free agent.<\/p>\n

One area the Warriors could focus on improving this summer is the guard position as the desperately need to add a backup guard behind Curry to add depth to their bench.<\/p>\n

One player the Warriors could look to make a move for is Sacramento Kings guard Keon Ellis and Ball Report recently posted a mock trade on X that would see Golden State land him.<\/p>\n

In the trade, the Warriors would receive Ellis from the Kings and K.J. Martin from the Utah Jazz.<\/p>\n

Sacramento would add Jaden Springer, a 2026 first-round and 2031 second-round pick from Golden State while the Jazz would acquire Moses Moody from the Warriors.<\/p>\n

This would be an interesting trade for the Warriors to make as they would have to give up Moody and two draft picks to add a young guard in Ellis along with Martin.<\/p>\n

Despite the lofty price, Ellis has shown flashes over the last two seasons of being a key contributor on the right team due to his defensive intensity.<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old guard is coming off a season in which he averaged 8.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 48.9% from the field and 43.3% from three.<\/p>\n

Ellis would give the Warriors another great defender off the bench and he would also provide them with another solid scoring option in the second unit.<\/p>\n

While that may be the case, the Kings have shown no interest in moving on from him this summer but that could change if they decide to make major changes to their roster.<\/p>\n
