{"id":139888,"date":"2025-07-01T19:21:09","date_gmt":"2025-07-01T19:21:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/139888\/"},"modified":"2025-07-01T19:21:09","modified_gmt":"2025-07-01T19:21:09","slug":"suns-notes-booker-green-beal-hayes-davis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/139888\/","title":{"rendered":"Suns Notes: Booker, Green, Beal, Hayes-Davis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\t\t\tJuly 1st 2025 at 12:26pm CST by Rory Maher \t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>The Suns and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/b\/bookede01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.hoopsrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-07-01_bbr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Devin Booker<\/a> are discussing a contract extension, according to NBA insider Chris Haynes, who notes (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ChrisBHaynes\/status\/1939846229522858061\" rel=\"nofollow\">via Twitter<\/a>) that the star guard will soon be eligible to add two years and $150MM onto his current deal.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hoopsrumors.com\/2025\/06\/steins-latest-kidd-flagg-beal-booker-more.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Marc Stein<\/a> and <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hoopsrumors.com\/2025\/06\/suns-booker-considered-likely-to-sign-two-year-extension.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Brian Windhorst<\/a> both reported last month that Phoenix was likely to offer Booker a maximum-salary extension once he\u2019s eligible on July 6 and the 28-year-old was expected to accept it, so Haynes\u2019 report doesn\u2019t come as a surprise.<\/p>\n<p>Here are few more notes and rumors out of Phoenix:<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/6461116\/2025\/06\/30\/phoenix-suns-jalen-green-devin-booker-backcourt\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Doug Haller of The Athletic<\/a> spoke to a handful of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/g\/greenja05.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.hoopsrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-07-01_bbr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Jalen Green<\/a>\u2018s former coaches to get a better idea of how he and Booker will be able to coexist in the Suns\u2019 backcourt. Green, a former No. 2 overall pick, will be sent to Phoenix from Houston as part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/d\/duranke01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.hoopsrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-07-01_bbr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Kevin Durant<\/a> trade. \u201cFirst off, they\u2019re really good guys,\u201d former Rockets head coach Stephen Silas said of Green and Booker. \u201cThey\u2019re both selfless. They both want to win. They both have seen the goods and the bads and have a really good feel for team basketball and what it takes to help you get over the top and win. It remains to be seen, but I think when you start with the base that those two guys have, it could work.\u201d<br \/>\nArizona Sports 98.7\u2019s John Gambadoro has <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hoopsrumors.com\/2025\/06\/suns-notes-beal-green-wild-card-suitors-lanier-durant-cousins.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">predicted<\/a> that Phoenix will either trade or buyout <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/b\/bealbr01.html?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=www.hoopsrumors.com&amp;utm_campaign=2025-07-01_bbr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Bradley Beal<\/a>, who still has two years left on his maximum-salary contract, which features a full no-trade clause. While Beal would be open to certain trade scenarios, his preference is to stay with the Suns, as he doesn\u2019t want to uproot his family or move away from them, a source close to the three-time All-Star tells <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/6457671\/2025\/06\/28\/nba-offseason-themes-pacers-nuggets-bradley-beal-suns\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Fred Katz of The Athletic<\/a>.<br \/>\nKatz also takes a look at why using the waive-and-stretch provision on Beal isn\u2019t possible unless he gives up at least $13.8MM in a buyout and spoke to some NBA executives about what type of contract the veteran shooting guard might be able to get if he were a free agent (in the range of the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hoopsrumors.com\/2025\/06\/values-of-2025-26-mid-level-bi-annual-exceptions.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">non-taxpayer mid-level exception<\/a>).<br \/>\n<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/h\/hayesni01.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Nigel Hayes-Davis<\/a>\u2018 contract with Fenerbahce included a \u20ac1 million NBA buyout clause, notes <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/basketnews.com\/news-227112-fenerbahce-to-receive-buyout-for-nigel-hayes-davis-nba-move.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Donatas Urbonas of BasketNews.com<\/a>. The NBA\u2019s \u201cexcluded international player payment amount\u201d for 2025\/26 is $875K, which means the Suns could pay up to that portion of Hayes-Davis\u2019 buyout \u2014 the rest would come out of his NBA salary, unless Fenerbahce agrees to lower the amount of the buyout.
