The Cleveland Cavaliers<\/a> had plenty of chances to win Sunday\u2019s game against the Orlando Magic<\/a>. They missed four threes in the final minute that would\u2019ve either tied or taken the lead. That said, the Cavs would\u2019ve approached that situation differently if the correct call had been made shortly before that sequence.<\/p>\n

Donovan Mitchell didn\u2019t have a good fourth quarter. One of the low moments was the turnover he committed with 1:25 remaining. According to the NBA, this should\u2019ve been a foul on the defense that would\u2019ve resulted in Cleveland retaining possession.<\/p>\n

Carter Jr. (ORL) initiates contact across Mitchell\u2019s (CLE) arm, affecting his ability to gather the ball.<\/p>\n

The report clarifies that this wouldn\u2019t have been a shooting foul. The foul would\u2019ve been on the floor which would\u2019ve allowed the Cavs to keep possession in a tie game. Additionally, it would\u2019ve kept Orlando from running in transition and generating a Franz Wagner shooting foul that led to the Magic taking the lead for good after the turnover.<\/p>\n

As far as missed calls go, this one wasn\u2019t egregious considering how physical this game was. The refs let both teams play throughout. It didn\u2019t feel like this was an obvious missed call in the moment.<\/p>\n

Missed calls happen. They\u2019re a part of sports. There\u2019s nothing the Cavs can do to control that and it is disappointing when you\u2019re on the wrong side of one late.<\/p>\n

Still, the Cavs had chances to put the game away early, but simply didn\u2019t. They also couldn\u2019t make the shots they needed to down the stretch<\/a>.
