The New York Knicks have had an interesting start to their offseason after reaching the Eastern Conference Finals last season.<\/p>\n

Of course, the Knicks began their offseason by firing head coach Tom Thibodeau in a shocking move.<\/p>\n

After almost a month of interviews for their head coaching vacancy, it was reported on Wednesday that they are expected to hire former Sacramento Kings coach Mike Brown as the next head coach of their franchise.<\/p>\n

New York has also been busy in free agency as they signed both Jordan Clarkson and Guerschon Yabusele to upgrade their bench.<\/p>\n

While the Knicks seem to be focused on upgrading their bench and keeping their starters together heading into next season, Sports Illustrated\u2019s Rohan Raman<\/a> recently released a blockbuster three-team trade that would send Karl-Anthony Towns to the Kings for Domantas Sabonis.<\/p>\n

In the trade, the Knicks would receive Sabonis and Keegan Murray from the Kings and Kobe Bufkin and a lottery-protected 2030 first-round pick from the Atlanta Hawks.<\/p>\n

The Kings would receive Towns and two first-round picks from the Knicks while New York would send Josh Hart to the Hawks.<\/p>\n

This would be an interesting trade for everyone involved and one that could end up benefiting the Knicks.<\/p>\n

While Towns was a key part of New York\u2019s success last season, his defense was an issue in the playoffs and while Sabonis is not an elite defender, he is a solid one who also gives the Knicks a great scorer and playmaker along with an elite rebounder.<\/p>\n

Murray would give the Knicks a great scorer as well and he would also provide them with an elite defensive wing who can guard multiple positions.<\/p>\n

Despite this, swapping Towns and two first-round picks for Sabonis and Murray while also sending Hart to the Hawks would be a difficult decision for the Knicks to make, especially coming off an appearance in the Eastern Conference Finals.<\/p>\n
