The Houston Rockets<\/a> will reportedly be trading David Roddy as part of the record seven-team trade<\/a> bringing them Kevin Durant and Clint Capela, per Fred Katz o<\/a>f<\/a> The Athletic<\/a>.<\/p>\n A 24-year-old forward, Roddy was signed to a two-year, two-way contract earlier this year<\/a>. It isn\u2019t yet to clear to which of the seven teams he will be routed.<\/p>\n \u201cThe only players who were in the NBA last season who are part of it today are Capela, Durant, Dillon Brooks, Jalen Green, Daeqwon Plowden and David Roddy, league sources say,\u201d Katz writes<\/a>.<\/p>\n Assuming it goes through as currently constructed, the seven-team deal will be the largest in NBA history by number of teams involved.<\/p>\n The trade can be official as soon as Sunday, July 6, which is when the NBA\u2019s temporary moratorium on transactions is lifted. Though it was agreed to two weeks ago, the Rockets had to wait until July<\/a> to complete the Durant trade so that Green\u2019s higher 2025-26 salary could be used for matching purposes.<\/p>\n If Roddy is involved in the deal, the Rockets would then open up one of their three two-way contract slots<\/a>. They currently have newly signed wing Kevon Harris on one of those deals, and a two-way qualifying offer was recently issued to young center N\u2019Faly Dante (who played with the Rockets last season on a two-way deal).<\/p>\n A physical forward with defensive potential, Roddy has averaged 6.2 points (42.1% FG) and 2.9 rebounds in 16.9 minutes over portions of three NBA seasons. Now 24 years old, he was drafted in the 2022 first round.<\/p>\n
