Next season can’t start soon enough for the Dallas Mavericks and their fans.<\/p>\n

They just landed Cooper Flagg, one of the most anticipated prospects in NBA history, and getting him next to Anthony Davis is an exciting thought for now and years to come.<\/p>\n

Of course, having Kyrie Irving out there would make them even scarier, but it usually takes a year for players to come back from ACL injuries.<\/p>\n

That would put him in line to return around the playoffs. However, when asked about that, Irving didn’t want to make any promises:<\/p>\n

“Don\u2019t hold your breath on that. You know what I\u2019m saying? That doesn\u2019t mean I won\u2019t be back, it\u2019s just\u2014I don\u2019t want to make any predictions on when I\u2019m going to be back. I just want to be back 150,000% better. So I\u2019m taking my time right now to really get healthy,” Irving said in a streaming session.<\/p>\n

Irving admitted that the process has been difficult, but that’s also why he has to make sure to be back to full strength before taking the court again:<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m taking my time to get my body right\u2014other portions of my body right\u2014and really just enjoy this recovery process. Man, it\u2019s not pretty. Yes, it is a beautiful struggle, but I go through kind of the mental roller coaster ride of every day. I just want to be back out there,\u201d Irving added.<\/p>\n

Irving has struggled with injuries in the past, and the Mavs should still be able to get by without him and allow him to get back to full strength.<\/p>\n

Their championship window will stay wide open for as long as Davis and Flagg are also there and healthy, so there’s no need to rush things and risk further injury.<\/p>\n
