Treyvon Maddox<\/a> has his final home. And it\u2019s Miami.<\/p>\n

Maddox, a 6-6, 4-star SF out of Orlando (Fla.) Oak Ridge High School, had originally signed a National Letter of Intent in Nov., 2024, in the Class of 2025 with Stephen F. Austin. But after a strong senior season and with bigger options coming in he asked for his release, and got it.<\/p>\n

Teams pursuing him after his release included Miami, Pittsburgh, Texas A&M, West Virginia, and Santa Clara. He wound up visiting Santa Clara<\/a> and Miami (one day visit at the end of June).<\/p>\n

Maddox is signing today with Miami per his agent Clay Milnes, who also said the Canes plan to use him at the 2 and 3 with a chance for him to see significant playing time as a freshman.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis recruitment was unique \u2013 he was committed, blew up and had a ton of high major offers, schools came out of the woodwork in the last month or so,\u201d Milnes said, adding that Maddox played really well in AAU ball.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

On3 National Recruiting Analyst Jamie Shaw describes Maddox as \u201ca lengthy wing with special natural athleticism. He is an above-the-rim athlete in traffic, hunting put-back dunks. He has a good wing handle, can get downhill, and finish plays in the paint. Maddox is the son of a coach and his frame and build is impressive. The jump shot will have to continue improving and working with his flexibility, but the upside is to become a national-level prospect.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maddox averaged 10.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game as a high school senior.<\/p>\n

He will join a totally rebuilt roster at Miami for the coming season. Maddox is a solid addition for coach Jai Lucas, with other pickups for this season transfers G\/F Marcus Allen (Missouri), G Tre Donaldson (Michigan), G Jordyn Kee (Georgia), F Malik Reneau (Indiana), C Ernest Udeh Jr. (TCU) and G Tru Washington (New Mexico) plus incoming freshmen 4-star forward Shelton Henderson, who Lucas flipped from Duke, 4-star guard Dante Allen, 3-star G John Laboy II, Turkish 6-10 center Salih Altuntas and Slovakian forward Timotej Malovec.<\/p>\n

\u201cMiami is planning on having him out on the wing, a perimeter wing making athletic plays, being a defender, developing in their system but having an opportunity to have a pretty big role for them (as a freshman),\u201d Milnes said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Treyvon Maddox has his final home.
