The 6-foot-8 prospect will forgo his senior year of high school at Greeneville (TN) and join the Hawkeyes for the upcoming season. <\/p>\n<p>Thompson chose to play for new coach <a href=\"https:\/\/hawkeyesports.com\/staff\/ben-mccollum\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ben McCollum<\/a> over offers from schools like Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Clemson, Purdue, UConn, Kansas, and several others. <\/p>\n<p>He is ranked as the No. 81 overall recruit in the 2026 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. He\u2019s also the No. 12 power forward and the No. 3 player in Tennessee. I wanted a significant role and I wanted to get better this year. They gave me both of those, so I decided to say yes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>What led to his decision to reclassify to 2025 and join Iowa for the upcoming season?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wanted to reclass up to get better this year.
