PHOENIX (AZFamily) \u2014 The Phoenix Suns are showing the young talent they hope will be their next star players. The team is introducing the three players they took in last month\u2019s NBA Draft: Khaman Maluach, Rasheer Fleming and Koby Brea.<\/p>\n
The Suns chose Maluach 10th overall in the draft, with many fans excited about the pick. The 18-year-old 7\u20322\u2033 center from Duke averaged 8.6 points and 6.6 rebounds during his freshman and only season there. \u201cSo excited to be here for this new culture and this new thing we\u2019re going to start,\u201d Maluach said.<\/p>\n
The No. 10 pick was part of a trade with the Houston Rockets that sent Kevin Durant to H-Town.<\/p>\n
Suns general manager Brian Gregory praised his high energy mentality and enthusiasm. \u201cHe brings it every single day,\u201d Gregory said.<\/p>\n
Fleming is a 6\u20329\u2033 forward from Saint Joseph\u2019s with a reported 7\u20325\u2033 wingspan. The Suns traded their No. 36 pick and a couple of future second-rounders to the Minnesota Timberwolves to snatch him at No. 31. He averaged 14.7 points and 8.5 rebounds in his junior season.<\/p>\n
\u201cHis mother was in the military so we know he\u2019s tough,\u201d said Gregory.<\/p>\n
Phoenix drafted Brea at No. 41 after using the No. 52 and No. 59 overall picks in a trade with the Golden State Warriors. The 6\u20327\u2033 wing played four seasons at Dayton before playing a year at Kentucky, where he was the best three-point shooter in college. \u201cHigh basketball IQ, tremendous work ethic,\u201d Gregory said about Brea.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019re only going to keep getting better,\u201d Gregory said about all three picks.<\/p>\n
Maluach will wear No. 10, while Fleming will wear No. 20 and Brea will have the No. 14 jersey.<\/p>\n
