Detroit \u2014 The Detroit Pistons announced details of the sign-and-trade deal with the Sacramento Kings involving Dennis Schr\u00f6der on Monday night.<\/p>\n

The Pistons obtained a 2026 second-round pick from the Kings in exchange for Schr\u00f6der and the least favorable second-round pick in 2029. Detroit also received a $14.2 million trade exception after not receiving a player in the deal.<\/p>\n

At the start of free agency, Schro\u0308der and the Kings agreed to a deal that ended his tenure with the Pistons. The veteran point guard joined Detroit at the NBA trade deadline in February due to the team’s need for a secondary ball-handler.<\/p>\n

During the second half of last season, Schro\u0308der helped the Pistons end their five-year playoff drought, averaging 10.8 points and 5.3 assists across 28 games. He continued his prominent production during Detroit’s six-game postseason series against the New York Knicks, averaging 12.5 points, 3.7 assists and 1.2 steals.<\/p>\n

By joining the Kings, Schro\u0308der will be on his 10th team. He began his career as a member of the Atlanta Hawks (2013-2018). Schro\u0308der then played for the Oklahoma City Thunder (2018-2020), Los Angeles Lakers (2021 and 2023), Boston Celtics (2022), Houston Rockets (2022) and Toronto Raptors (2024).<\/p>\n

Before joining the Pistons, Schro\u0308der began last season playing for the Brooklyn Nets, who traded him to the Golden State Warriors in December.<\/p>\n
