He lived up to the hype as one of the deadliest snipers in the draft class, but again, it was just one game. Was it sustainable?

That answer is yes, Brea following up his red-hot performance with another standout effort in game two, finishing with 15 points, six rebounds, two assists and a steal in 29 minutes.

He started with eight points in the first half, highlighted by two end-of-shot-clock buckets that were silky smooth.

Then came the three-point daggers in the second half, the biggest being a disgusting between-the-legs, stepback heave from the corner with Jacob Toppin in his face — a pro bucket if there has ever been one.

Sometimes you’re hot, sometimes you’re En Fuego.

It was a performance that left Brea feeling pretty confident about getting shots off against NBA length and physicality — a credit to his year playing in the SEC at Kentucky, he says.

“I think I dealt with physicality last year,” Brea said of his time in Lexington. “Guys just wanted to body me up and kinda throw me around. But I’m not taking that. I might look skinny, but I’m pretty strong. I’m really comfortable with the physicality.”

Everyone knows he can knock down catch-and-shoot threes, but as he showed on Sunday, he’s got a deep mid-range bag, too.

His goal is to become a three-level scorer at the next level.

“I’m reading the closeouts, attacking the closeouts. I know I have a mid-range game, so I can get to that any time,” he said. “Next step is getting to the rim, little things I keep learning from and improving upon. I’m just grateful I was able to have that experience today.”

Through two Summer League games, he’s currently averaging 17.0 points per contest on 54/60/100 splits. Is that good? It sounds good.

As you can probably imagine, Brea is all anyone wants to talk about right now — especially Suns fans and media members.

“Koby Brea is already special on the move. Smooth shot from anywhere on the court and a high understanding for how to get his open looks.
