Guard Cole Anthony has reached a buyout agreement with the Memphis Grizzlies and intends to sign with the Milwaukee Bucks, according to an ESPN source.<\/p>\n
The 25-year-old guard was traded to Memphis in June as part of the Desmond Bane deal, ending a five-season tenure with the Orlando Magic, where he carved out a role as a reliable scorer off the bench.<\/p>\n
In the 2024\u201325 NBA season, Anthony averaged 9.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.9 assists, while shooting 35.3% from beyond the arc. Despite Ja Morant returning from a hip injury, Memphis opted to move on from Anthony, whose $13.1 million cap hit for the upcoming season and club option for 2026\u201327 may have factored into the decision.<\/p>\n
Anthony Brings Scoring Spark to Milwaukee<\/p>\n
With the Bucks recently making the bold move to waive Damian Lillard, the team faced a major void at the point guard position. Anthony, known for his ability to heat up quickly off the bench, will add depth and playmaking to Milwaukee\u2019s backcourt.<\/p>\n
A former 15th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, Anthony has established himself as a \u201cmicrowave scorer”, capable of catching fire in spurts. He has scored 20 or more points in 49 career games.<\/p>\n
