As the NBA offseason continues through free agency and the Las Vegas Summer League, a debate was renewed on Monday.<\/p>\n

That was due to Bleacher Report\u2019s NBA staff releasing their list of the top 100 players in NBA history.<\/p>\n

Among those named on the list was New York Knicks legend Patrick Ewing, and deservedly so.<\/p>\n

Bleacher Report listed Ewing<\/a> as the 40th best player in league history despite his resume missing multiple key accolades during his Hall of Fame career.<\/p>\n

\u201cPatrick Ewing\u2019s resume is full of holes. He does not have a ring or Defensive Player of the Year hardware,\u201d Bleacher Report\u2019s NBA staff wrote. \u201cNone of this is cause to stick him any lower. His ring count is what happens when Michael Jordan\u2019s Chicago Bulls exist, and when your most impactful defensive seasons intersect with the primes of David Robinson, Hakeem Olajuwon and Dikembe Mutombo.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Ewing was never able to win a championship or a Defensive Player of the Year award, he is still regarded as one of the best centers in NBA history, especially during his era.<\/p>\n

Ewing was extremely hyped coming out of Georgetown and the Knicks selected him first overall in the 1985 draft.<\/p>\n

He would then go on to win Rookie of the Year, the first of many accomplishments during his historic NBA career.<\/p>\n

Over his career, Ewing was an 11-time All-Star, seven-time All-NBA selection and three-time All-Defensive team selection.<\/p>\n

Of course, he played 15 of his 17 seasons in the NBA in New York, becoming arguably their best player in franchise history, though he came up short in bringing a title to the franchise.<\/p>\n

Despite this, Ewing was a dominant force over his 17 seasons in the NBA as he became one of the best big men to play the game and that was noticed on Bleacher Report\u2019s list.<\/p>\n
