Trevor Ruszkowski-Imagn Images<\/p>\n<p>The Hoosiers went 82-53 under Woodson, but underwhelmed given the program\u2019s high standards, failing to make it past the Round of 32 in two NCAA Tournament appearances and missing the tournament  the last two years.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Indiana had been one of the highest NIL spending teams in the country and was ranked No. 17 in the preseason AP poll.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Woodson, who played college ball under Bobby Knight at Indiana, was drafted 12th overall by the Knicks in the 1980 draft.<\/p>\n<p>He spent 11 years in the NBA, including five seasons with the Kings, before becoming an assistant head coach with the Bucks in 1996.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>After several stints across the league, including a head coaching gig with the Hawks from 2004-10. <\/p>\n<p>Woodson became a Knicks assistant in 2011, later becoming the franchise\u2019s head coach from 2012-14, going 109-79.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img style=\"aspect-ratio:1.14669653;display:block\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" data-modal-image=\"35862822\" width=\"677\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rawchili.com\/nba\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/91479609_USA-BASKETBALL-NBA.jpg\" alt=\"New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony (R) calls out a play to his team in front of New York Knicks head coach Mike Woodson in the second half of their NBA game against the Washington Wizards at Madison Square Garden in New York, New York, USA, 04 April 2014.\" class=\"wp-image-35862822\"  \/>Carmelo Anthony calls out a play to his team in front of Knicks head coach Mike Woodson in the second half of <br \/>a game against the Wizards on April 4, 2014.
