In an effort to return to the NFL\u2019s elite, the New York Giants made a notable move by signing Russell Wilson<\/a> as their new QB. The sports world in this iconic city was buzzing with excitement, especially a historic former player from the New York Knicks.<\/p>\n

Carmelo Anthony<\/a> was an outstanding player in the Big Apple for several consecutive seasons, and today, far from his professional playing days, he enjoys the sport from a different perspective. After the news of Wilson\u2019s arrival broke, he didn\u2019t hesitate to express his excitement about it.<\/p>\n

In a recent conversation with Sports Illustrated\u2019s Conor Orr, the former Seahawks and Broncos player revealed the conversation he had with the former Team USA Olympic medalist, who assured him that New York will be a great place for him in this new challenge.<\/p>\n

\u201cMe and Carmelo were talking about this,\u201d Wilson said. \u201cHe\u2019s like, \u2018Man, this is the perfect place for you to reestablish and have everybody realize who Russell Wilson really is, by not just how you play on the field, but what you do, the community and different things that you\u2019re able to impact.\u2019 \u201cAnd people, it doesn\u2019t get any bigger than New York City.\u201d<\/p>\n

After his most recent stint with the Pittsburgh Steelers \u2014 where his performance fell short both on the field and statistically \u2014 Wilson now has a new opportunity to showcase his talent, this time with the New York Giants<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In a conversation with the media, the veteran QB and Super Bowl champion with the Seahawks expressed his excitement about this new challenge. He emphasized that he\u2019s in peak physical condition and eager to do things right alongside head coach Brian Daboll<\/a> and his new teammates.<\/p>\n

\u201cHonestly, I feel like I\u2019m 25 years old all over again,\u201d Wilson said. \u201cAnd I think part of that is just physically I feel great. Mentally, I feel amazing in terms of, It\u2019s possible. You know what I mean? And I think ultimately, a big part of it is the people you\u2019re around, the players, the coaching staff, the mentality of the guys. And then being in the city. The energy of it is for people that like to be fast-paced, which is me.\u201d<\/p>\n
