NBA star Klay Thompson<\/a> stepped out with his\u00a0new girlfriend, rapper Megan Thee Stallion<\/a>\u00a0at her New York City gala, and the three-time Grammy winner is already calling him “the nicest person I’ve ever met” – marking their first official red carpet moment together.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, July 16, the newly launched couple stepped out together at the rapper’s inaugural Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala at Gotham Hall in New York City.<\/p>\n

Megan, 30, rocked a striking halter-style black gown with intricate beading at the gala, which aims to “provide resources to effect meaningful and positive change in the lives of women and children, senior citizens, and underserved communities” in Houston and around the world, according to its\u00a0website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Thompson, 35, proudly held his girlfriend’s hand at the event, wearing a simple black-and-white tux.<\/p>\n

“Oh, we met and it was such a meet cute it was like a f\u2014ing movie,” Megan told “People.”<\/a><\/p>\n

“I won’t tell you how and I won’t tell you when, but it was a movie that he’s the nicest person I’ve ever met in my life,” she added.<\/p>\n

The 6-foot-5 Dallas Mavericks star went viral earlier this month when he stepped out with the “Captain Hook” rapper for the first time.<\/p>\n

Megan quietly confirmed the rumors on July 9 when she featured the NBA player in the background of one of her\u00a0Instagram<\/a>\u00a0photos, sending some of her 32 million followers into a frenzy.<\/p>\n

In the snap, the rapper is seen posing on the corner of a pool in a string bikini.<\/p>\n

If you blink, you’ll miss it, but in the corner of the photo, a man who appears to be Thompson is seen lounging in a pool chair, soaking up the sun at a distance.<\/p>\n
