Former U.S. President Barack Obama is a major basketball fan.<\/p>\n

The Chicago, Illinois native is a massive Michael Jordan fan. He’s been seen at several basketball games over the years, including the NBA, WNBA and men’s and women’s college hoops. Obama famously had some pickup basketball games at the White House while he was in office, too.<\/p>\n

This week, an old comment from President Obama is going viral. He made it clear who he would pick for his “all-time” starting five. The former U.S. President did a nice job of blending some older players with some younger players.<\/p>\n

LeBron James<\/p>\n

Obama says that he would make LeBron James his “point forward,” playing a similar role to the one Magic Johnson played with the Showtime Lakers.<\/p>\n

Michael Jordan<\/p>\n

Obviously, the greatest player in NBA history is going to be in Obama’s all-time starting five, especially given the Chicago Bulls connection.<\/p>\n

Steph Curry<\/p>\n

Obama said that Curry is the greatest shooter in NBA history. He doesn’t think there’s anything to debate with that. It’s of course tough to argue that.<\/p>\n

Kevin Durant<\/p>\n

Durant was the fifth pick for Obama’s all-time starting five, but he’s as good of a floor spacer as there is. “Bad shot” doesn’t really exist for Durant, who can get his shot off against anyone, while playing incredibly efficient basketball, too.<\/p>\n

Hakeen Olajuwon<\/p>\n

Olajuwon, now 62, would still fit in well in today’s game. At his prime, he was one of the most athletic and most dominant players in league history. He’d be an elite shot blocker and defender while also being a versatile option on the offensive end.<\/p>\n
