A professional bettor \u201cplaced 30 wagers in 46 minutes,\u201d all involving Heat G Terry Rozier, in a 2023 NBA game when Rozier was playing for the Hornets, according to documents and sources cited by David Purdum of ESPN.com. On the morning of March 23, 2023, a \u201cbettor at a sportsbook in Biloxi, Mississippi, placed $13,759 in bets on the unders on Rozier\u2019s statistics in a game that night\u201d between the Hornets and Pelicans, according to the documents. All 30 bets won after Rozier \u201cexited 10 minutes into the game, citing a foot issue.\u201d Sources said that in all, \u201cat least six sportsbooks in multiple states detected suspicious betting on Rozier props that day, with the bulk of the activity occurring in Louisiana and Mississippi.\u201d The NBA investigated the \u201cunusual activity\u201d in 2023 and found that \u201cno league rules were violated.\u201d Rozier is one of three NBA players \u201cknown to have been under investigation\u201d\u202fby the U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office for the Eastern District of N.Y. Sources said that \u201cmultiple sportsbooks in New Orleans also received heavier-than-expected action on the under on Rozier props, starting in the morning and lasting until midafternoon.\u201d Most prominent sportsbooks \u201chalted betting on Rozier props within an hour of the U.S. Integrity alert,\u201d according to an archived odds feed from betting analytics site Unabated.com.
