(WNDU) &#8211; It might be the middle of the offseason for the Notre Dame men\u2019s basketball team, but the Irish are still being active in the community.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cvccelebrationofhope.org\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.cvccelebrationofhope.org\/\">Coaches vs. Cancer Golf Classic<\/a> was held today at Warren Golf Course, with head coach Micah Shrewsberry among those in attendance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Just last night, Shrewsberry served as the special guest speaker at the Night of the Stars reception at Four Winds Casino. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">And today, he spoke with the media about the significance of his team\u2019s involvement in the event.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cWe are trying to teach life lessons. That\u2019s something important for them to get a chance to see people, get a chance to meet people, but be a part of the helping in some kind of way,\u201d Shrewsberry said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Coach Shrewsberry also shared how the summer has been going for this year\u2019s group.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">\u201cI think our continuity is a little bit different than a lot of people around the country,\u201d he said. \u201cHaving seven guys back, it doesn\u2019t sound like a lot but we can talk about things and guys are doing it already. We made some changes to some stuff and schematically in what we are doing, but they\u2019ve picked up on it really well and I think they have come with an unbelievable attitude.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Coaches vs. Cancer raises funds for the American Cancer Society.
