The San Antonio Spurs will be aiming to improve their No. 20 ranked 35.7% accuracy from three-point range as a collective in 2025-26, and their latest signing could help to accomplish that goal.<\/p>\n

After a sensational Summer League showcase, the Spurs reportedly signed<\/a> 6-foot-6 guard and electric one-on-one scorer David Jones-Garc\u00eda to a two-way contract Tuesday.<\/p>\n

“David Jones-Garcia, All-Summer League first team breakout guard, has agreed on a two-way NBA contract with the San Antonio Spurs, agents Deirunas Visockas and Guillermo Bermejo of Gersh Sports tell ESPN,” ESPN’s Shams Charania shared via Twitter\/X on Tuesday evening.<\/p>\n

The 23-year-old guard’s incredible efficiency from all areas of the floor certainly excited the Spurs’ front office during his monster Summer League run.<\/p>\n

In five appearances, Jones-Garc\u00eda contributed 21.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.2 steals while knocking down an astonishing 52.9% of his 6.8 three-point attempts.<\/p>\n

Jones-Garc\u00eda authored several magnificent performances for the Spurs in Summer League, but it was the manner in which he did so that captivated San Antonio’s top brass.<\/p>\n

As a surgical ball-handler and incredibly skilled jump-shooter off of both the dribble and catch, his otherworldly outside shot-making efficiency was paired with an impressive mid-range and rim-finishing game.<\/p>\n

With the Spurs recently loading up at the guard positions, it might be difficult for Jones-Garc\u00eda to carve out a consistent spot in their rotation at the NBA level, but he could see a quick promotion from their Austin Spurs G-League affiliate if his unreal three-point shooting clip persists heading into the 2025-26 campaign.<\/p>\n
